✨ Why Ease-Aquatics Weeping Moss?

Our Weeping Moss is locally acclimated to ensure the distinct downward-curving growth habit. Unlike standard Java Moss, this variety creates a natural "tree" effect when attached to driftwood. It is Pretoria-hardened to thrive in local conditions from day one.

Advanced Technical Info

  • Temperature Sensitivity: ⚠️ Critical: Prefers cooler water. If temperatures exceed 26°C for long periods, growth will stall and the moss may lose its vibrant green color.
  • Downward Growth: The "weeping" effect is more pronounced under medium lighting. In very low light, it may grow more stringy.
  • Detritus Trap: Moss is a natural filter but can trap waste. Ensure moderate water flow to keep the fronds clean and algae-free.
  • Shrimp Favorite: Provides an immense surface area for biofilm, making it the #1 choice for shrimp breeders and fry safety.

Care & Maintenance

  • Trimming: Trim regularly with sharp scissors to keep the "teardrop" shape and prevent the bottom layers from browning due to lack of light.
  • Feeding: Absorbs nutrients directly from the water column. Responds very well to liquid carbon and light liquid fertilization.
  • Cleaning: Occasionally "puff" the moss with a turkey baster or wave your hand near it during water changes to dislodge trapped debris.

How to Propagate

  • Division: Simply pull apart the moss cushions into smaller clumps.
  • Attachment: Secure clumps to wood or rock using Cyanoacrylate superglue gel or dark fishing line.
  • Growth: It will naturally attach its own "rhizoids" (root-like anchors) to the hardscape over several weeks.
