✨ Why Ease-Aquatics Rotala?
Our Rotala Green is locally grown to stay vibrant and bushy. Unlike standard rotundifolia, the 'Green' variety stays a pure lime green even under high-intensity light, never turning orange or red. It is Pretoria-hardened for a seamless transition to your scape.
Advanced Technical Info
- Growth Habit: Unlike other Rotalas, 'Green' tends to grow horizontally or weeping when first planted under high light before pushing upwards.
- Color Stability: If your Rotala is turning red, it isn't the 'Green' variety. This specific strain is prized for maintaining its fresh spring-green look.
- Nutrient Demand: A fast grower that loves nitrates. If leaves look pale or small, increase your liquid fertilization.
- Shrimp Safe: Provides excellent cover for shrimp colonies once it forms a dense thicket.
Care & Maintenance
- Pruning: ⚠️ Critical: To get the "bush" look, you must prune frequently. Cut the stems low; the plant will then produce multiple side-shoots from the cut point.
- Light: Adapts to medium light, but high light creates much denser, more attractive leaf nodes.
- CO2: Not strictly required, but CO2 injection will significantly increase growth speed and leaf size.
How to Propagate
- Stem Cuttings: Simply snip a healthy stem (at least 10cm long) and remove the lower leaves.
- Replanting: Push the bare stem into the substrate. It will develop a new root system within days.
- Density: Plant stems about 1-2cm apart to allow light to reach the lower portions of the plant as it matures.
