✨ Why Ease-Aquatics Flamingo?

Our 'Flamingo' Crypts are grown to maximize their signature vibrant pink pigment. Because they are Pretoria-hardened in stable local water, they are significantly less likely to experience the total "Crypt Melt" that ruins fresh imports.

Advanced Technical Info

  • Root Feeding: ⚠️ Critical: Unlike Anubias, this is a heavy root feeder. You must use nutrient-rich aquasoil or root tabs to keep the pink color deep.
  • Stability First: Sudden changes in lighting or water chemistry can trigger "melting." Once planted, do not move it.
  • Pigmentation: High lighting and iron supplementation are the secrets to moving the leaves from a dull brown to a brilliant "Flamingo" pink.
  • Shrimp Safe: Like all our plants, these are 100% shrimp and snail safe from day one.

Care & Maintenance

  • Substrate: High-quality aquasoil is mandatory for long-term success. Root tabs should be refreshed every 3-4 months.
  • Light: Needs at least 8 hours of consistent medium-to-high light. Low light will cause the plant to revert to a brownish-green.
  • Trimming: Only remove old, decaying outer leaves. New growth will emerge slowly from the center crown.

How to Propagate

  • Runners: A healthy 'Flamingo' will eventually send out underground runners.
  • Splitting: Wait until a daughter plant has its own root system and at least 4 leaves before cutting the runner and replanting.
  • Patience: This is one of the slowest growing Crypts; expect months before seeing significant offsets.
